Vietnam, Mozambique mark diplomatic ties

The Mozambique’s Embassy in Vietnam held a ceremony in Hanoi on June 25 to celebrate the 40th
anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Ambassador
Gamiliel Munguambe said the founding diplomatic relations in 1975 marked the
friendship, peace and development of the two nations.
Vietnam and Mozambique supported each other
during the cause of national independence, reunification, and development, he
said.
The two sides
have strengthened cooperation in various fields such as politics, external
affairs, and economics to culture, education-training, and telecommunication,
he added.
Minister of
Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat said Vietnam is a close friend of
Mozambican people.
Vietnam is pleased with the impressive
achievements that Mozambique
has gained in the political, social and economic realms, which help Mozambique
become one of the African countries having the highest growth, he said.
He added that
the two countries have expanded bilateral cooperative ties in various fields
for mutual development.
The Minister
said he hopes the bilateral relations will be further strengthened in the
coming time for the benefits of the two peoples.
Earlier, a
wide range of activities were held in Maputo and
Hanoi to mark
the two countries’ diplomatic ties.
