Mozambique pledges to ensure security of Vietnamese citizens

Mozambique has pledged to ensure safety for Viettel’s investment and security of Vietnamese community there, said Mozambican Minister of Home Affairs Jaime Monteiro at a recent meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Nguyen Van Trung.
Trung said Vietnam respects cooperation between the two countries’ public security sectors. Vietnam will host 50 Mozambican policemen to attend international training courses at the Vietnamese People’s Police Academy this year.
He thanked the Mozambican Interior Ministry for measures to ensure safety for the Vietnamese Viettel Group’s investment in the country. He also asked for more measures to protect Vietnamese people living in Mozambique.
Minister Monteiro glowingly spoke of the collaboration between two security ministries to realize the cooperation agreements on the fight against crimes and training.
He added that information sharing between two countries about trans-boundary crimes has greatly contributed to ensuring public order and safety for citizens.
The Minister appreciated the cooperation between two law enforcement authorities in the fight against illegal trade of endangered species and their parts. He also applauded the Vietnam Embassy’s communications efforts to raise the awareness of the Vietnamese community about wildlife protection.
He thanked Vietnam for the support in training and sharing experience with Mozambican police, saying that he is destined to visit Vietnam in 2016.
