Vietnam is joining more than 680 businesses from
31 countries and 1,900 others from Mozambique to showcase their
products at the Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM) from August 31 to September
6.
Supported by
the Vietnamese Embassy, the Hanoi Trade Corporation (Hapro) introduced a wide
range of products, such as rice, food, instant noodle, Trung Nguyen coffee, and
Kim Anh tea.
On display are
also mobile phones, telephones, VAT on Internet and website services delivered
by Movitel – a joint venture between Vietnam´s Viettel Group and Mozambique´s
SPI and Invespar Company, which lured great attention from Mozambique
customers.
During
meetings under the framework of the trade fair, Mozambique
businesses showed their keen interest in importing equipment and construction
materials, timber processing, and food, particularly rice and corn,
preservation from Vietnam.
Vietnam’s returning to the FACIM after five
years marks an initial step in infiltrating the potential market in South
Sahara – the most dynamic economic region in Africa.
