The Vietnamese Government has issued
and is implementing the Project "Developing ties between Vietnam and
the Middle East – Africa countries for the 2016-2025 period", which
identifies agriculture as one of the priority areas of cooperation with Africa.
Africa is a large continent with 55 countries, a population of over 1.2 billion
people, farmland accounts for moẻ than 60% of the total global arable land area. In
the relationship between Vietnam and Africa, agricultural is one of the
traditional areas of cooperation, which activate since the 80s of the XX
century through many forms: agricultural trade exchange, cooperation according
to bilateral and trilateral models within the framework of South-South
cooperation. One of the reasons for the results of agricultural cooperation
between Vietnam and African countries in recent years is because Vietnam and
African countries have good political relations, the desire to cooperate and
share experiences for mutual development. From its experiences, Vietnam can
support some African countries in agricultural production, especially in food
production.
