After
two years since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the current situation
has been extremely complicated with a lot of outbreaks spreading rapidly in the
world. Vietnam and African -
the Middle Eastern countries have been heavily affected by Covid-19 pandemic.
In comparison to the global financial crisis and public debt in 2008-2009, the
Covid-19 pandemic has made all countries in the world unexpectedly impacted.
Unlike the previous world economic crises which had resulted in the large
imbalance between demand and supply, the Covid-19 pandemic has caused both
supply and demand to be interrupted at the same time. Additionally, the
international cooperation relations, of which the cooperation between Vietnam
and African - the Middle Eastern countries have been facing a lot of difficulties
and challenges.
Institute
for Africa and Middle East Studies (IAMES) belonging to Vietnam Academy of
Social Sciences (VASS) in cooperation with other partners organize the
International Conference with the theme "Promoting the Cooperation between
Vietnam and African- the Middle Eastern Countries Post Covid-19 Pandemic” (PCVAME-2021). The International
Conference (PCVAME – 2021) will be a forum for the domestic and foreign policy
makers, researchers, organizations and enterprises to exchange information,
analyze and assess the current situation of Covid-19 impacts in African - the
Middle Eastern countries and Vietnam. Thereby, we share experiences to respond
and find solutions to overcome difficulties in the cooperative relations
between Vietnam and African- the Middle Eastern countries in the context of the
ongoing Covid-19 and post-Covid-19 pandemic. The International Conference (PCVAME-2021)
will contribute to the effective implementation of the Vietnamese Government’s
Project on “Developing the Relations between Vietnam and the Middle Eastern
& African Countries in the period of 2016-2025”.
